No. It keeps the ledger and holds the payment handle. You send the transfer wherever you already bank, then record it in the app so the balance closes. There is no card, no bank connection and no fee.
Because nothing verifies the transfer, a balance closes only when one of you records it. Open the person, tap Settle up, and record the amount. Either side can do it.
Yes. The amount on the settle screen is editable — record what you actually sent and the rest stays open.
A bill that doesn't divide evenly leaves an odd cent, and the app always gives it to you rather than quietly rounding someone else up. Everyone's shares still add to the exact total.
Tap Edit on the items list to fix names, quantities and prices before assigning them. It's worth doing straight away — the shares are calculated from what's in the list, not from the photo.
That's allowed. You can send a receipt with items still unclaimed and people can claim their own later. Unclaimed items simply aren't charged to anyone until someone takes them.
Tap the item and add both names. A single item splits across as many people as you like — quantity one doesn't mean one person.

Yes, and you can override it — choose System, Light or Dark in Settings.
Delete your account in Settings, or email privacy@splitsimple.app for a copy of everything we hold. One thing worth knowing: expenses you shared with other people stay on their ledgers with your name replaced, because removing them would change what those people owe each other.
