Splitsimple is a bookkeeping tool for shared expenses. It records who paid what and calculates who owes whom. Splitsimple does not move money between accounts, hold funds, or process payments — when you tap "Settle up," you're recording that a payment happened outside the app (cash, a bank transfer, another app), not sending money through Splitsimple itself.
You're responsible for keeping your password and verification codes to yourself, and for the accuracy of the expenses, splits, and settlements you record. Splitsimple relies entirely on what members enter — we don't verify that an expense happened or that a settlement was actually paid.
Splitsimple Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) that raises your monthly receipt-scan limit. The price is shown before you buy and is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; canceling stops future renewals but doesn't refund the period you're already in, and you keep Plus until it runs out.
Manage or cancel your subscription anytime from your device's App Store or Google Play account settings — not from within Splitsimple. Purchases and refunds are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own policies; we can't issue refunds directly.
Adding an existing account to a group adds that person straight away — they'll see the group the next time they open Splitsimple, and they can leave it once they're settled up. Only add people you're actually splitting costs with. Inviting someone who isn't on Splitsimple yet records them as a placeholder until they sign up with that email or verify that phone number.
Don't use Splitsimple to harass, impersonate, or add people to groups without a legitimate reason to be splitting expenses with them. Don't attempt to access another user's account or data you're not a member of a shared group with.
Splitsimple is provided as-is. Currency conversions shown in the app are estimates for display purposes and may not exactly match the rate your bank or payment provider uses.
We may update these terms as the app changes. Continuing to use Splitsimple after an update means you accept the revised terms.
